For the 9th consecutive year NATRUE is featured in the ‘Who’s Who In Natural Beauty’, which recognises the organic beauty sector’s change-makers and rising stars. Dr Mark Smith, NATRUE’s Director General, has been voted #9 in this latest industry Top 25, “created by the industry, for the industry”.
As featured in the pages of the Autumn edition of Natural Beauty News, the 2023 ‘Who’s Who’ brings together: “…the personalities who have helped make plant-powered skincare the world-changing sector it is today … ambitious entrepreneurs, exacting formulators and rigorous regulators, industry cheerleaders, thought leaders and tireless advocates. With their forward-thinking ethos, style and passion, the natural beauty sector is sure to soar into a cleaner, more ethical and sustainable future.”
#9 The Anti-Greenwash Guru – Mark Smith, Director General, NATRUE
“In a sector that can all too often be clouded by greenwashing, Mark Smith is a passionate campaigner for revealing the truth. In 2020 he was appointed to the affiliate board of the British Beauty Council, where he’s been championing better sustainable business practices ever since, and he now co-chairs the Sustainable Beauty Coalition’s steering committee alongside Beauty Kitchen’s Jo Chidley and Elemis’ Oriele Frank. Mark’s also part of the new Eco Beauty Score Consortium, working to establish a transparent score system to rate products for their level of sustainability and help consumers make more responsible beauty choices.”
Dr Mark Smith was delighted to hear of the news, commenting: “I am immensely touched to have made number 9 in the Who’s Who in Natural Beauty 2023! I am delighted to share the podium with long-term colleagues from the sector who have always been a wealth of knowledge and source of inspiration and motivation. After such a long and fruitful involvement with Natural Product News, I cannot avoid mentioning that it is with sadness we say goodbye to this notable publication and thank everyone for their wonderful appreciation for the sector. Whilst we may not have a Who’s Who for 2024 (yet), it is undeniable that the strength of the natural beauty sector remains in good hands! Congratulations once again to everyone who was nominated!”
