NATRUE, together with other eleven associations, calls on the Council of the European Union to establish an effective and practical EU legislative framework under the Green Claims Directive. Specifically, the undesigning associations consider that the following features need to be secured:
- Ensuring clarity, predictability, and legal certainty for all interested parties.
- Encouragement for sustainable innovation and practices.
- A balanced approach that enables consumers without information overload.
- Fostering greater harmonisation across the EU to prevent inconsistencies and create a level playing field for all businesses operating within the Single Market
The signatory associations urge Member States to take these suggestions into account and to focus on creating an agile and functional piece of legislation rather than rushing the decision-making process.
