NATRUE

Starting January 2020, NATRUE implemented its new Raw Material Scheme to further facilitate and promote the formulation of NATRUE certified finished products and raw materials. As we want to make things easier for you, we have created an infographic with 5 steps you should follow to get the NATRUE certification.

FAQ:
– Raw Material approval, certification, or acceptance?
Approval refers to the process covering applicable natural or derived natural substances (not from organic agriculture) aimed at verifying compliance to the NATRUE standard by documentation review by a NAC.

Certification refers to the two-step process covering applicable organic grade raw materials aimed at verifying compliance to the NATRUE Standard by documentation review and production site audit by a NAC.

Acceptance refers to organic grade raw materials certified to a standard or regulation in the IFOAM Family of Standards.

– Costs
Certifications costs are always invoiced entirely by the NATRUE Approved Certifier the applicant decides to work with.

NATRUE label fee: 50 euros per approved or certified raw material for a 2-year certificate (renewable after 2-years).

– Grouped NATRUE label fee
Eligible for:
· single ingredient plant extracts (e.g. [essential] oils);
· defined plant extracts where the base extraction is the same (e.g. glycerine/water);
· raw materials from the same supplier with identical INCI composition (e.g. Xanthan Gum or powders in various qualities).

In all cases listed above the label fee is grouped and invoiced collectively. For example, for 10 plant oils, the label fee would be €50 and not €500 (cf. Label Usage Agreement for Raw Materials, available for download at the end of this page).

– Raw material’s database
NATRUE cares about transparency. For this reason, our database is public and it’s available for everyone.
