An optimal, uncomplicated and pure beauty care: meet ginhut’s Naturkosmetik

Daniela Evers, Managing Director of ginuht’s Naturkosmetik
I am Daniela Evers, Managing Director and co-founder of ginuht’s Naturkosmetik, which I established alongside my husband, an experienced dermatologist. Cosmetic production was a new venture for me. Originally an architect, I bring a keen understanding of constructive interrelationships and design – skils I now apply in product development. My qualification as a practitioner of alternative medicine has further strengthened my desire to harmonise the unity of body, soul, and spirit with nature. With the strong conviction that we have a responsibility for ourselves and our environment, we create wonderful products that combine sustainability, nature and aesthetics.  In my free time, I enjoy long walks in nature with my dog, exploring my creativity while painting, and travelling. I find inspiration in the beauty and traditions of different cultures.

NATRUE: How did ginuht’s journey begin? What does ‘ginuht’ stand for?
Daniela: The story of ginuht’s began during the Corona period as a mother-daughter project. To give my daughter an opportunity to explore her creativity, we started making cosmetics together. My husband, an experienced dermatologist and my business partner supported us in the development of our first products. With his expertise, extraordinary creations were born, and we realised that this project had the potential to grow into something much bigger: ginuht’s Naturkosmetik.

The name ginuht’s is inspired by Old High German, the earliest written form of the German language (750–1050 AD). In Old High German, “ginuht” means abundance, overflow, or fulfillment. It captures the richness and brilliance of nature, aligning with our brand’s ethos of celebrating and utilising nature’s wealth in a sustainable and respectful way. This connection to history and language reflects our deep respect for tradition and the abundant gifts of the natural world.

NATRUE: Tell us about the ingredients you favour in your formulations… What makes them special?
Daniela: Our products combine various natural ingredients such as aloe vera, almond oil, shea butter, calendula, lavender, myrrh, beeswax, vanilla and lanolin. With very few, but high-quality and certified ingredients, we offer optimal, uncomplicated and pure beauty care. However, our care products are not only ideal for sensitive skin, but also appeal to trend-orientated people. With our toner, for example, we achieve the perfect glow – inspired by the Korean ‘glass skin’ trend. This radiant, healthy-looking skin reflects modern aesthetics and makes our skincare a must-have for anyone who appreciates natural beauty and wants to go with the trends at the same time.

The special thing about our skincare products is their efficiency and the incredibly pleasant feeling on the skin. They boost the skin barrier, give a unique feeling of well-being and combine natural beauty with modern style.

NATRUE: What challenges did you face as a family-run natural cosmetics brand and how did you overcome them?
Daniela: All the challenges have helped us to grow and strengthen our values. Competing in a market where big brands dominate is tough, but we focus on transparency, certified organic ingredients and a clear brand philosophy: less is more.

Another significant challenge was the search for environmentally sustainable and, where possible, regional supply chains. Our primary raw material vendors and our glass and packaging manufacturers all originate from Germany to ensure short transport routes and, at the same time, support the local economy – an aspect that is very familiar to us. Developing this network was a logistical challenge. But with a great amount of engagement, we have found reliable partners who share our vision.

NATRUE: What advice would you give to someone who wants to switch to natural cosmetics?
Daniela: Switching from conventional products to natural cosmetics is not only a decision for the skin but also for the environment. It’s a conscious decision in the interests of health, the environment and sustainability. The NATRUE ORGANIC certification guarantees that more than 95% of the ingredients are made from certified organic raw materials, thus creating transparency and safety. So, I recommend certified organic cosmetics. In fact, our customers report that they immediately notice a relaxed feeling on their skin after switching – a sign that the skin appreciates the effective and gentle ingredients.

NATRUE: Transparency and trust are of central importance in natural cosmetics. Why did you decide in favour of NATRUE certification?
Daniela: From the start, we quickly realised that we not only wanted to combine high-quality natural formulations while being fully transparent about our ingredients. In this context, we chose the NATRUE organic cosmetics certification to confirm not only the origin of our ingredients, but also the ethical and environmental values that we represent. With NATRUE, we can clearly and honestly communicate what is in our products – and what is not.

I also really like the look of the NATRUE logo for our cosmetics. For me, it symbolises the purity and connection to nature that we want to communicate and fits perfectly with our philosophy. As an international label for quality and trust, it reinforces our commitment to offering authentic and sustainable natural cosmetics.
