We are Bianca and Flavio Sieber, owners and CEOs of Robert & Josiane – a Swiss brand for natural cosmetics. We took over the brand from its founders in 2024 and are continuing it with great passion. Our professional journey into natural cosmetics was driven by the belief that skincare should not only be effective but also uncompromisingly natural and sustainable. We also believe it should have a gentle, sensual scent and feel pleasant on the skin.
Our shared enthusiasm for these wonderful products is the foundation of our work – and we simply love creating something beautiful together. In our free time, we enjoy spending time with our two children, our family and friends, and finding inspiration in nature, whether hiking, mountain biking or creatively experimenting with new formulations.

NATRUE: Robert & Josiane was founded in 1999. Could you share the inspiration behind starting the brand and how your backgrounds influenced its creation?
Bianca & Favio: Robert Wegmüller and Josiane Mouret were pioneers of natural cosmetics in Switzerland when they founded the brand in 1999. As a couple, they followed their dream of translating the valued contrasts and the harmony in their relationship into a skincare line. Robert, a biologist, brought his flair for raw materials and formulations, while Josiane, a former teacher, contributed her creativity and love for poetry.

Over the years, they developed sensual products with great care and attention; products that are unique thanks to their special combinations of natural fragrance and active ingredients. Each one was thoughtfully created: versatile, highly effective, and long-lasting. A small but refined line of natural cosmetics was born.

What inspires us most is the fusion of high-quality plant-based ingredients with fragrant and effective components that support holistic well-being. The simple, intuitive, and versatile application of our products also brings an easy, relaxed feeling to daily skincare. This philosophy motivated us to take over the business and continue its values.

NATRUE: The brand emphasizes creating products that are versatile, effective, and economical. How do you determine which products to develop, and what is your approach to formulating them?
Bianca & Favio: Our product development follows a clear principle: you don’t need a lot, but what you do use should be truly excellent. We work with high-quality, highly effective natural ingredients, combined with unique fragrance blends made from essential oils and hydrosols. Our formulations are based on a deep understanding of plant-based substances and their synergies.

Our goal is holistic well-being – from the beneficial effects on body and mind, to sustainability for people and the planet, all the way to that feeling of relaxed simplicity, thanks to our versatile and highly functional products.

NATRUE: Robert & Josiane has been NATRUE-certified since 2011. How does this certification align with your brand’s philosophy, and what does it mean for your customers?
Bianca & Favio: Robert & Josiane has been NATRUE-certified since 2011, a standard that guarantees maximum transparency and quality. This certification underlines our commitment to authentic natural cosmetics without synthetic additives. For our customers, it means trust and reassurance: they can rely on the fact that our products are made exclusively from carefully selected, natural ingredients.

NATRUE: In a competitive market, how does Robert & Josiane differentiate itself from other natural cosmetic brands?
Bianca & Favio: In a market full of natural cosmetic brands, Robert & Josiane follows a unique philosophy: we believe that less is more – not in terms of reducing ingredients, but by simplifying daily skincare routines.

Our products are formulated so that you don’t need a separate product for every skin or hair type. One shampoo for all hair types, one cream for all skin types; that means uncomplicated, universal care without compromising on quality or effectiveness.

Another core aspect of our brand is our distinctive fragrance compositions. Each product contains a carefully balanced blend of natural aromatic and active ingredients that nourish the skin and engage the senses. Our fragrances are not an afterthought, they are at the heart of each formulation and make every skincare experience unique.

NATRUE: Could you elaborate on the significance of using natural ingredients like cocoa butter in your products, and how they benefit the skin?
Bianca & Favio: Natural ingredients like cocoa butter play a central role in our formulations. Plant-based oils and fats have a unique quality, as they closely resemble skin’s own lipids. This allows them to penetrate deeply into the skin, rather than simply sitting on the surface. They nourish intensely, support natural regeneration, and help strengthen the skin’s barrier.

Unlike synthetic fats, which can sit on the skin and clog pores, plant-based oils allow the skin to breathe. Cocoa butter, for example, is rich in essential fatty acids and antioxidants that provide lasting moisture, keep the skin supple, and protect it from environmental stress. Its luxurious texture offers a deeply nourishing yet non-greasy skincare experience.

Through the careful combination of various natural oils and active ingredients, we create products that don’t just moisturise: they support long-term skin health, resilience, and natural beauty.
