NATRUE

On 10 to 11 June 2026, NATRUE took part in Cosmetic Business, the international trade fair for the cosmetics supplying industry, held in Munich (Germany). This year’s edition brought together 371 exhibitors and companies from 28 countries, showcasing products and services related to the development, manufacturing, filling and packaging of cosmetics.

The 2026 edition also marked the launch of the “Green Area”, a new dedicated section spotlighting sustainable solutions from across the industry, co-hosted by NATRUE and oneRD.

As an official event partner, NATRUE was pleased to be present in the dedicated partner area. Across the two days, the team welcomed a diverse range of visitors to its stand, including raw material suppliers, manufacturers, certification applicants and industry professionals interested in learning more about NATRUE’s mission to promote and safeguard natural and organic cosmetics worldwide.

Aida Martinez, NATRUE’s Certification Manager, commented: “CosmeticBusiness offers a valuable platform for direct exchange with a broad spectrum of stakeholders across the cosmetics value chain. It is an opportunity to discuss shared challenges and priorities around transparency, credibility and high standards in natural and organic cosmetics.”

Visitors from more than 50 countries, including Austria, Switzerland, Poland, Italy and the Netherlands, explored the latest product trends, including the growing relevance of longevity in response to an ageing population and concerns around photoaging, as well as a strong focus on sustainability, transparency, and reusable and refillable packaging solutions.

NATRUE in action
On 10 June, NATRUE had the pleasure of hosting the Green Area. Wilfried Petersen, NATRUE Senior Scientific Advisor, represented NATRUE throughout the day.

At 11:20, Petersen delivered a presentation on behalf of NATRUE titled “Cosmetics and Green Claims: Where do we stand in 2026?”, offering insights into the Empowering Consumer Directive, its upcoming implementation across the EU, and its implications for green claims and cosmetic product certification.

Later that day, NATRUE moderated the panel discussion “How can we understand sustainability not as an obligation, but as an opportunity? Best practices from the beauty industry”, featuring Christine Steger, (Mann & Schröder), and Miriam Hempel (NELE Kosmetik.)

At 15:00, a second panel took place with NATRUE members under the theme “Communicating Green Claims Effectively: How Brands Can Showcase Sustainability Without Greenwashing”. Speakers included Andrea Dahm (Primavera), Monica Otten (Peruda Skincare), Nicoline Wöhrle (Dr.Hauschka, WALA Group), and Edanur Gündoğdu, (green team). The discussion explored best practices for transparent and credible sustainability communication in cosmetics.

In addition, throughout both days, Aida Martinez, NATRUE Certification Manager, hosted the Sustainability Tour, showcasing selected brands and innovations across the exhibition. The tour offered visitors insights into sustainable product solutions presented by exhibitors, with participants evaluated by a panel of experts – including Dr Mark Smith, NATRUE’s Director General – based on criteria such as innovation, material savings and resource efficiency.

We would like to thank everyone who visited our stand. CosmeticBusiness 2026 provided an excellent opportunity to reconnect with familiar partners, discover inspiring new initiatives, and contribute to the ongoing dialogue shaping the future of the cosmetics sector.
