                               NATRUE Stand – NOPEX, 2022

NATRUE is excited to be returning to Natural & Organic Products Europe (NOPEX) at London’s ExCel this spring from 16 to 17 April 2023, and will be exhibiting in the Natural Beauty & Spa area. The two-day event attracts natural and organic retailers from all over Europe and is the largest trade show in the UK. With over 700 companies expected to exhibit, the show looks set to attract around 7.5k visitors from around 70 countries.

NATRUE will showcase a selection of very established NATRUE-certified hero products from founding brands, as well as new innovations and the latest launches.

NATRUE’s director Dr Mark Smith commented: “We are excited to be back in London this year, and look forward to updating beauty brands, distributors, suppliers, beauty buyers and visiting retailers about the latest developments in the natural and organic cosmetics sector. We look forward to welcoming friends of NATRUE, old and new, to our stand (G11) and to answering their questions and sharing our news.”

PRESENTATION ‘COMMUNICATING SUSTAINABILITY DIGITALLY’
Dr Mark Smith, a member of the Sustainable Beauty Coalition Steering Committee, will share a presentation on Sunday 16 April at 14:30 in the Natural Beauty Talks theatre entitled ‘Communicating sustainability digitally: consumer perception, expectation and fulfilment’.

In light of recent increased consumer interest and use of digital media to evaluate and purchase products, NATRUE commissioned a survey focusing on consumer perceptions and expectations of these digital tools. The findings will be discussed in the context of claims, labelling, packaging and environmental impact.

‘GREEN COMPLIANCE’ PANEL DISCUSSION
Dr Mark Smith will also be joining an informative ‘Green Compliance discussion panel at NOPEX in the Natural Beauty Talks theatre on Monday 17 April at 14:00, alongside fellow SBC members Jo Chidley, Founder & CEO Beauty Kitchen, Sian Sutherland, Co-Founder of A Plastic Planet, and Victoria Brownlie, Chief Policy Officer for the British Beauty Council, and moderated by SBC Chair Jayn Sterland.

The panel will explore the responsibility of manufacturers to ensure they meet both environmental and legislative needs. From the future of packaging, to plastic as a gateway to climate crisis and the role of business to address this, the panel will consider options for a more sustainable future, as well as providing practical advice about retailer and producer responsibility, and navigating the latest green claims regulation to ensure compliance.

‘COMMUNICATING CLEAN BEAUTY’ PANEL DISCUSSION
The following day, Mark Smith will moderate a separate discussion panel Claims & Consumers: Communicating Clean Beauty, with industry representatives at the B2B show Clean Beauty In London, at The Brewery in London EC1, on Tuesday 18 April at 11:00.

The panel will include Jayn Sterland, Chair of the Sustainable Beauty Coalition and MD of Weleda UK, alongside Jo Chidley, Founder & CEO of Beauty Kitchen, plus Jessi Baker, Co-Founder of sustainability marketing tech company Provenance, together with Sophie Rose, Commercial & Marketing Director for Planet Organic, and Cristina Dimetto of the Organic Trade Board UK.

As consumers demand more transparency about what they buy, the concept of clean beauty is no longer limited to ingredients but can extend to brand policies centred around sustainability issues and ethics as well. Taking insight from brands and retailers alike, this panel will address the underlying pros and cons of claims associated with clean beauty in order to avoid misleading consumers through ‘cleanwashing’.
